University Overview
Xiamen University, one of China's key universities, ranks among the top 24 in China (2023) and the top 2% in the world university rankings (2024). It's a prestigious Chinese university.
Xiamen University was founded by Chen Jiageng, a native of Fujian Province who made a fortune in the rubber industry in Malaysia and became a leader among overseas Chinese.
In 2015, it became the first Chinese university to establish an overseas campus in Malaysia.
While many universities in Malaysia, including branches of foreign universities like Monash University and the University of Nottingham, follow the British-style education curriculum, Xiamen University Malaysia Campus offers a unique curriculum that combines British and Chinese approaches.
In Chinese universities, there are often separate courses for international students, making it challenging to study alongside local Chinese students. However, at Xiamen University Malaysia Campus, students have the opportunity to study alongside Chinese students, which is a significant advantage.
Classes are conducted entirely in English, but due to the presence of Chinese students, ethnic Chinese Malaysians, and Southeast Asian Chinese, proficiency in the Chinese language can be beneficial for daily life.
It provides an excellent environment for students who wish to acquire not only English skills but also Chinese language proficiency.

Surrounding Environment
To build a massive campus following Chinese standards, the university was constructed by clearing the jungle, so there is not much around apart from eateries for students. However, the campus is lush with greenery and the grounds and buildings are vast, making it a relaxed and resort-like campus. While it is quite far from the nearest station, there is a school bus service available.
