Monash University General Information
Overview
Monash University is a prestigious Australian university ranked 42nd in the world (2024). It was the first overseas university to establish a branch in Malaysia.
Unlike private universities in Malaysia, Monash University does not offer ADTP (American Degree Transfer Program) or twinning programs that allow you to obtain degrees from overseas universities. However, there is an inter-campus program that allows you to study for one semester (about 6 months) at any of Monash University's six campuses in Australia.
In addition, Monash University has partnerships with renowned universities around the world and offers a program that allows you to study abroad for one semester (about 6 months).
■ University Admission English Course
This course is exclusively for students whose English proficiency falls slightly short of the university admission requirements. Therefore, it does not cover general English (conversation).
■ Bachelor's Degree Transfer Preparation Program
This program was created as a remedial measure for students whose high school grades do not meet the admission criteria for bachelor's programs. The admission criteria for high school grades are lower than those for bachelor's programs, and if the conditions are met, you can transfer to the second year of a bachelor's program after one year.

Monash University School Surroundings
Monash University is located within the town formed by the Sunway Group. In the area, you'll find Sunway Pyramid Shopping Mall, which includes the AEON shopping center, Sunway Lagoon Amusement Park, the luxury resort hotel Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa, and the Pyramid Tower Hotel. These facilities are all connected by dedicated pedestrian walkways, and there is a free shuttle bus service that circulates among them.
This Sunway Town (Bandar Sunway) offers a highly convenient and comfortable living environment, catering to everyday life and entertainment needs.
Geographically, it's in an area just outside Kuala Lumpur known for housing many universities. In the same area, you'll find Sunway University, Taylor's University, INTI International University, and more. Sunway University is connected to Monash University via a dedicated pedestrian walkway.

The room rates for 4-person rooms differ between window-side and interior-side. Malaysia is a tropical country, and the rooms only have ceiling fans, no air conditioning. If you cannot withstand the heat, you can transfer to another residence, but please note that there will be additional procedure fees. There are no stoves in the kitchen for fire prevention, so self-cooking is not possible.
